The Alabama Educational Technology Conference is held each year usually in the month of June. The conference provides 1 hours concurrent sessions, one and a half, three and six hour hands-on workshops, and an exhibit hall comprised of companies that sell educational technology. Usually the conference consists of a pre-conference day, with two conference days and a post conference day.
This blog was formed to be a way of both informing the educators that are interested in AETC, and as a method of getting the views of these same educators. It is our hope to better plan for the needs of our educators that wish to bring the best technology education to our schools.
Please let me know about the 2010 Conference. I live in Montgomery and would like to participate next year. Is this conference held at some physical location or is it all online?
Thanks,
Linda K. Harvey

I am considering participating at your conference, as I have been participating at FETC, NECC and others for several years. At FETC last week (after presenting), I was told ‘You gotta come to AETC’. Can you please tell me the expected number of attendees ?
Hi Paul,
We would be interested in your participation. Please check out our website at the following: http://ti.alsde.edu/aetc/
Information about the conference may be obtained from the following: http://www.mcraemeetings.com/index.php?src=gendocs&ref=AETC_Home&category=EVENT_07
Would you recommend this conference to preservice teachers?….or is it strictly for licensed teachers?
Yes, Melissa, I think this would be a good conference for a preservice teacher. Our presenters are a mixture of teachers, and educational technology professionals. Topics present in our preliminary program represent only the workshop portion of the conference. There will be over a hundred other presentations from teachers, vendors, and ed tech professionals that will be relevant to the classroom.
